J.L. Petigru's papers include a letter concerning the Palmer estate, and indenture, and a letter to William George Read of Baltimore. Charles' papers consist of letters from his sister Adele, wife of Robert Francis Withers Allston, Jane, his brother Tom, and from friends in Maryland. They are mainly personal although one contains a good description of White Sulphur Springs, W. Va.
